Another paddler huh, yaks or canoes?mblud wrote:Got my plastic on Friday! I had a long work out planned for Friday night, 20 miles of paddling down Trinity River then a 20 mile run/hike back to our put in point with three friends (don’t ask, just a bunch of crazy people!). I decided NOT to carry during the paddle and hike, because I did not have a way of carrying the weapon in a safe manor and I really had not thought much about carrying it. I will come up with a good carry while working out in the near future. I would have felt much better with a pistol, walking along desolate roads at 2:30 in the morning (right after the bars close) can get kind of creepy.
So yesterday, after a 4-hour nap, my wife and I went to Target. I had not told her I had my CHL yet, so I thought I would carry and see if she noticed. She did not notice and I felt much calmer than I thought I would. I was wearing shorts and a collard shirt un-tucked. I carried my KelTec PF9 in a Comp-Tec Minotaur MTAC Holster at the 4:00 position. I have found the 4:00 is much more comfortable for me then at 11 or 12.
I still need to do the Wally Walk, if nothing more than to continue the tradition. But I am starting to feel comfortable about carrying!
Thanks to everyone on this great forum that continues to offer such great advice.
