Bonnen was agitated about a post that Lone Star Gun Rights posted. They were talking about people that had served their time for crimes commited and that they should be able to have their rights to carry a firearm restored. Somehow this evolved into CC would alow felons to carry a gun.

She didn't she was talking about his Tshirt. It evolved into an actual gun, like so many stories that get passed around.

Bonnen's wife said that McNutt threatened and/or brandished a weapon when he was at the residence. Flight records note that he did not check a firearm, therefore was not carrying.

I keep seeing this, but I only remember her saying that he showed up wearing a ‘t shirt with a machine gun on it’, or some such nonsense. Can someone find a news report where she is quoted as saying he brandished a weapon or showed up armed?

It was a Tshirt that he was wearing. Man that is really intimidating, almost as good as kids drawing pictures of guns and being punished.

Exactly, his statement that law enforcement wouldn't be able to tell the law abiding from the criminals says it all. It's working just fine in 16 other states.

The only person out of line is Speaker Bonnen and his wife. He was never going to let this bill get out of committee, because he thinks that the 16 states that have it don't know what they are doing. He is completely out of touch with reality on this issue.

But the point is that Bonnen wasn't at home, if McNutt wanted to contact him then McNutt would have been in Austin. This wasn't an effort to contact Bonnen, at best it was a publicity stunt gone wrong and in politics publicity stunts backfire more often than not.

Uh, McNutt didn't do anything wrong.

That should be played in the State house. That is the worst case of intimidation of the DPS that I have ever seen.
