I have seen several do exactly what yours is doing but have never seen one actually work out far enough to cause a malfunction even on the range.

This is a common occurance w/ some of the 3ATs. I hope you are not disappointed but many of us have had bad experience w/ Kel Tec in general & the 3AT in particular.
