Re: Carrying at church
Thank you gentlemen. I assure you I am not that smart. It is God our Holy Spirit that puts the easy to remember phrases & statements in my mind & heart.
Thank you Lord for helping others w/ them.

In Texas anyone that provides security functions must have a security license, anyone that is armed must be commissoned. Read the law and make sure your organization is not in violation of it. I would hate to see folks with good intentions get bad consequences!
This is very true. I get a little ribbing & have some fun from this side about Preacher Carry, & since I am the Safety Officer at our local range I have trained SEVERAL of our folks in firearms safety & personal defese; also several people in other churches.
For above reason: In Texas anyone that provides security functions must have a security license, anyone that is armed must be commissoned. Read the law and make sure your organization is not in violation of it. I would hate to see folks with good intentions get bad consequences!
At our church we have a "Safety Plan." In print & officially, there are no designated people or official places of responsibility to guard or even watch. We do have greeters at every door that really do shake every hand & greet every visitor w/ a smile & friendly welcome. They are not assigned either. Our folks just welcome people coming in.
When I go over the Safety Plan about every 6 months I remind everyone that:
"There are no security guards at Jubilee Baptist Church, there are no special hats, badges, ribbons or crosses to wear that designate anyone as security personell. There is no secret hand shake or sign flashed that designates anyone as security. If you do something in time of trouble, it will be because you are doing what men do in times of trouble."
I make sure I make that quoted statement several times through it. I have had lawyers look at it & the Chief of Police here set through one of the presentations. It has passed their close examination.
Advice following is worth exactly what you will be billed for.
Dont designate anyone as security personel, dont even use the word security.
Let men do what real men do in times of trouble.
Off the box & headed for the cave to reload.

Re: Carrying at church
Wife never starts the subject but when someone says anything about carry or "needing to get on of those pistol permits" she always just says, You need to go talk to the preacher. As she speaks, she hugs her Sig 232 a little tighter.
