What ever would suit you. I have done it both ways.
I used to wear a IWB holster w/ belt snaps. On & off was easy.
When Hospitals had to start posting 30-06 I quit the on/off drill.
Only time I had to do it w/ OWB I took the holster & vest off too.

I dont jump in many "what if" threads but this does happen on a few occasions.
If it does & you have to disarm in the wide open spaces, get in your car, drive out to the edge of a parking lot. Take your gun out of your holster while setting in your car. Wrap it up in a towel, shoping bag, anything.....
Then put it in your trunk.
