The topic originator is very active in keeping those posts alive.jmorris wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 9:05 amWhile I mostly agree, if you check the original date of the posts quite a few are months or years old. One is four years old. So it's other people keeping the thread alive.74novaman wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 8:21 amSo pick your own news site to compare it to if Drudge was a bad example.
Almost half the topics on page one in this off topic subforum are topics posted by one guy. They're all 24/7 cable news style topics. If I wanted that, I'd be on a news website.
I come to read about gun/Texas chl stuff, but all the recent activity is always that one guy posting random news he finds online.

Re: I think the forum is dying
This forum used to be the first place I checked online every morning and then frequently throughout the day.
Since it turned into "CNN the TxCHLForum edition" not so much. This was an escape from the day to day main stream media assault upon my sanity. Used to be a lot of good firearms, self defense posts, legislative updates, etc.
I kinda remember two-threes years ago that some long time forum members asked to have the Off Topic forum closed down again to keep this from happening...but I could be remembering incorrectly.
I'd rather see 10 good 2A, firearm, training, etc posts than a hundred about the craziness that I can see at millions of other sites.
Maybe it could be returned to the banner description:
