OK, I finally got my new safe!! A Browning 30" wide model from Sportsman's Warehouse. There is a local Police Officer who Sportsman's works with that delivers. He delivered and set it where I wanted it for $140. The thing weighs 610# empty.
Any thoughts as to storing ammo in the safe? I was thinking that's an easy 50-60# that can be added to the safe. Any reason to not do this? I'm talking boxed ammo, no reloading stuff (powder/primers). With guns, ammo, and a couple of other things, the safe we be 750# plus.
Thanks for any input....

I'm interested in a safe also, but I want heavy. I read somewhere anything less than something like 750# is considered 'portable' and should be bolted to the floor. I really don't want to do that, I imagine it involves tearing up either tile or wood floors in our home and then concrete, but I also don't want something that can be carried (dolly / roller / etc) off.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Gary
