Netanyahu was likely flying on an Israeli military aircraft. Looks like the "Shin Bet" team was an advance security team and they (not Bibi) arrived on El Al flight to JFK, then took American Eagle to DC. The security team obviously had State Dept clearance to have the weapons, otherwise they would have been arrested by Customs upon arrival in US. Every time I check a firearm on an airline, I know there's a distinct possibility they'll lose it, just like any other luggage.
