I left my 1995 CHL-16 book at home and I'm traveling, but I don't think there was an exception to 46.035 for having consent in 1995-96. I'll dig it up later and post, but "effective consent" is a concept in the 30.06 language, and 30.06 didn't exist in 1995-1996. Where in 46.035 did it say you can could carry in Church, Amusement Park, Hospital, Nursing home with effective consent. I don't think it did.MeMelYup wrote:Carry at Church, Hospital, Nursing Home, Amusment park, Citycouncil, school board meeting was with written consent, same as with colleges.ScottDLS wrote:No you couldn't carry there with a CHL until 1997.o b juan wrote:"You can carry in a church now." Re: Confusion with too many rules
I would consider that a victory since they've banned CC by policy even for non-prohibited events. Are they still preventing people from CCing there with wands? I know they are at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, because I just filed a complaint with the City Attorney.Rowyco1 wrote:Here is one that confuses me. Went to AA Center today. Expected to see a 30.06 and 30.07 sign. Instead just saw the 30.07 sign for no open carry? Did they change the rules on CC at the AAC?
Finally, AAC can not use 30.06/7 to prosecute you for carrying there because they are owned by the City of Dallas and therefore 30.06/7 does not apply. On the other hand, they will likely just keep doing what they've been doing by physically keeping you out.

Re: Confusion with too many rules
Note you have a statutory DEFENSE TO PROSECUTION if 51% sign is not posted. Just like you have a DEFENSE for carrying a handgun if you have a LTC...joelamosobadiah wrote:Ultra simplistic....
Locations that are prohibited by signage
30.06 (concealed), 30.07 (open), TABC 50%
Locations that are statutorily off limits
Educational institutions
Courts and Offices utilized by the courts
Professional sporting events
Correctional facility
Polling places
Racetrack
Secured area of an airport
Note TABC 51% locations are off limits regardless of proper signage being posted.
