Re: Summertime clothing options for CC

I like this option for cargo shorts:

It's not as accessible as OWB but it conceals completely and I can wear my shirts tucked-in if I want. I've used this for the last four summers and I've been realy pleased with it.

Re: With the State Fair of Texas coming soon.

On their web site says under FAQs. what can I bring it states: ...a gun? No, with one exception. A person holding a valid concealed handgun license is permitted to enter onto State Fair property with his/her concealed handgun. Handguns will not be permitted inside the Cotton Bowl, a facility defined...

Re: 5.11 tactical shorts on a tall guy?

You can opt to buy whatever cargo shorts you want and get a holster that can fit inside the pocket of the shorts. I tried this three years ago and still use this during the summer.... http://www.handgunholsters.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It's not what I'd call a fa...

Re: Martial Arts As Deadly Force vs. CHL??

I do have some background on this so for what's it's worth here's my .02 cents..... I'm certified 2nd degree black belt, I also carry. I know from my own experiences that a hand-to-hand anything is no match for anyone who is remotely proficient with a firearm (I suspect everyone who reads this forum...

Re: A disappointing State Fair episode 10-1-09

Since the wife and kids had already been promised a trip to the fair this year we went this morning. Based on the experiences of so many this year I was expecting to go through the same process, was not looking forward to it. However, this year, instead of displaying my chl to the wand-guy at the en...

Re: Weapon Lock box in car

I have one of the secure box's you can purchase at Cabelas. Went to Houston to attend a funeral last week in August. I redrilled new holes to fit the console box bolts in my F250. While attending the service, some #@##@# broke into my truck, stole the GPS unit in the console but they did not get the...

Re: state fair carry

Went to the State Fair last year with the wife and kids. Presented my CHL and drivers license to the security guard before being scanned. He looked over both licenses and waived me in, no scan, no problem through the metal detector. Didn't even break the pace of the moving line.

Re: Summertime

mr.72,

Sorry, I provided the wrong web site before. The web site is:

http://www.handgunholsters.net/

You can use the belt you would normally use (don't necessarily need their tactical belt). It's hard to beat for $25.

Re: Summertime

baseballguy201, The holster/belt rig is what you would receive. You supply the shorts of your choice. Depending on the size of your carry choice, you'll need to pay attention to pocket size of the shorts. Instructions come with the holster on where/how to cut slits where needed. I added a cut in min...

Re: Summertime

Summertime carry is a concealed hoslter from handgunners.net. Fit's inside the pocket of cargo pants, is completely concealed at all times. You can wear it with a t-shirt tucked in if you prefer and still can't tell. Even my wife can't tell when I'm carrying with this setup and I've carrying a 4&quo...

Re: in the news tonight

pt145ss, My favorite carry method for my Kimber .45 is from www.handgunholsters.net. It's designed to fit inside the pocket of cargo shorts/pants and it works great. I use this holster with cargo shorts and I've been real pleased with it. You can't beat it for warm/hot weather carry here in Texas. I...

Should have read it before posting it. I should have stated that if you're discovered carrying without a license. rats.

Re: Better off not getting CHL now?

If your son-in-law is going to carry then the best thing he can do is take the chl course and do it legally. If he gets discovered carrying with a license then his problems can escalate quickly, and assuming he would qualify for the license, the problems could be avoided altogether. He's a walking e...

Re: LEO seizure of a handgun

Charles,

If an officer wouldn't have the authority to retrieve the gun from the locked trunk, would that also apply to a locked (and bolted down) valut in the console of a vehicle?
