I, too, have been drawn upon but never fired at. My incident occured back in 1988 in Baton Rouge, LA. I was a 20 year-old student at LSU and driving home alone from my girlfriend's place around 1:00 or so in the morning. Traffic at that time was almost non-existent but I had just passed a fellow that was driving less than the posted speed limit in the right-hand lane of a four-laned road. When we both came to a stop at a red light immediately following where I had just passed him - I was now in the right-hand lane and he was now in the left-hand lane - he rolled down his passenger window and asked me if I was "looking for trouble". I calmy replied, "no", to which he replied, "well, you've found it" and grabbed & pointed what looked to be (remember, it was dark) a 1911-style pistol at me. Scared out of my britches from looking down the barrel of that gun, I instantly leaned to my right over the armrest and somewhat into the passenger seat and stomped the accelerator. Peaking over the dash I quickly put as much distance between me and him as I could, which didn't take long since he decided not to pursue me through the red light. Although it took me about 10-15 minutes to get my heart rate and breathing back to normal, I was still in one piece and okay. To this day I have never been so scared in my life...
