I do quite a bit of trail riding in the woods and I use a thumb break pancake holster. The only reason I use the thumbreak while on a bicycle is in case I take a spill I don't want it coming out. Some of the trails I ride are kinda rough so spills aren't that uncommon.

Sometimes I'm out for hours at a time and I don't notice anything more discomfort than I do on a normal daily basis. The extra weight of pistol & spare mags gives me an extra bit of workout.

Of course, I don't wear any of that spandex, painted on clothing that some road riders wear. I guess that would make concealment a bit trickier.
