I was more concerned with the bore and if nitrated applied to the bore. It doesn't matter a whit what the outside of the rifle looks like if the bore is going to rust up or be damaged my minor neglect. ETA: Maybe not. It looks like its an ammonia-based surface hardening process. Parkerizing is a phosphating process.

What does "Nitrited" mean? Is that as good as a chrome barrel?
