BB gun recomendation for daughter
I'd like to get a bb gun for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas this year. Daisy makes a pink 'Red Rider' style that she would probably like. I am torn between getting something like this or getting something a bit nicer with a scope. I would love to hear from other Parents and what has worked wel...

Re: Taco Cabanna w/ NO 30.06 sign
I was at the TC at Mopac and Parmer in Austin last week. They use to have a 30.06 posted on the front door but now it is gone. They'll get more of my business now.

Re: Gun stores Austin area?
One other that hasn't been mentioned yet is 'cost + 10%'. It is a tiny place just off of Burnett (I think it is on Burnett loop). Very small selection but worth a look if your in that neck of the woods.

Re: What's your favorite semi pocket pistol?
I'll cast my vote for the Kel-tec P3AT. I have had zero problems with mine and it shoots pretty darn good groups considering its size and you'll be hard pressed to find anything lighter. It disappears in almost any pocket and it is light enough that you will forget it is there. For what you get for ...

Re: First LEO contact - disarmed and unloaded
If I read this correctly, the trooper knew the driver was armed, broke contact, then came back to the car to disarm him. This was not an officer safety issue, or he would have disarmed the driver at the initial contact. He just wanted the gun so he could run the serial number. :mad5 You read correc...

Re: First LEO contact - disarmed and unloaded
Given the way he disarmed me, I wonder what he would have done if I would have been using something like a smartcarry holster??? That could have made things very interesting.

Re: First LEO contact - disarmed and unloaded
After getting back into the car I told me wife that I was glad no one we knew drove by while I was getting disarmed. You can't know that this isn't the case, actually... Fortunately this was a pretty secluded part of the road and no cars passed us going either direction while this was happening.

Re: First LEO contact - disarmed and unloaded
The DPS officer was by himself. I almost asked him why he disarmed me the way he did but since he was nice enough to just give me a warning I didn't want to push my luck.

First LEO contact - disarmed and unloaded
So I was with my family driving home this weekend. I turned onto a stretch of road where I thought the speed limit was 65. On this road the speed limit changes from 65 to 60 in several places. So I'm going 65 and I spot the 60mph speed limit time the same time I see a DPS car. I start to slow down b...

IWB holster with two belt clips
Anybody use one of the holsters that has two belt clips such as comp-tac, crossbreed, etc with only one of the belt clips? If so which clip do you use and how does it work for you? It seems like the holster would be less obvious with only one clip (and easier to put on/remove).

Re: Gun show + 3% credit card use increase
I have been caught by this at a gun show. However, I can understand why a dealer would do this and as long as they are up front about it I'm ok with it. Why should a dealer be forced to lose 3% of their profit in order for me to be able to use my CC? I don't really like it, but I understand it.

Re: kidnapping - OK to shoot?
I hear what you are saying. In some cases you wouldn't know what was really going on. I'm talking about the situation where it is obvious that a child is being abducted. Here in Austin there was a little boy, I think he was 5, that was taken by 4 young men from the families driveway. Thank God he is...

kidnapping - OK to shoot?
I had never thought about this before but after hearing an Amber alert the other morning I was wondering what the law would be in the following situation: You see someone trying to kidnap someone (assume it is someone you don't know) - can/should/would you shoot to help them if you could? If I knew ...

Re: Smartcarry Review
I have two small kids who often sit in my lap. What is the position of the smartcarry when seated? Would the kids be sitting on it?
