Re: Change of address status on website

Wow! I received my CHL with new address on 7/21. Wow! That is less than three weeks! In fact, it came in on the same day as my TDL, and I updated the TDL one day earlier. My original issue CHL took a long time, but the change of address was acceptable, fast even.

Change of address status on website

Howdy! I finished moving into my house and, as a law-abiding CHL holder is required, I contacted DPS via the web site and requested a change of address. I did this on 7/3. I just checked the web site and saw: "No application or license/certificate active." Now, the first thing I read was "No ....license.....active!"

After reading it again, I calmed down a little and checked my credit card to find a charge from TXDPS CRS CHL AUSTIN TX for $25. So, I am sure everything is fine and they are just processing my change, but I thought the web site would say something like "License/certificate active" or maybe "Processing address change" or something else. Maybe I am just working too many hours. Anyone have any thoughts? Does anyone have a wild guess as to how long a change of address takes?

Oh, one more thing for those not familiar with the process, keep your PIN in a safe place. I did not think about it until I needed it AFTER moving! You must have it to change your address on line. However, it only took a day or so after my request for DPS to email it to me. Nice people!
