Re: TAC-CON 2024
John Farnam was great. Can't believe he has 50 years in law enforcement and is still working. The guy is 77. Was really interesting to hear the living legend give advice on instruction. I took Tim Herron's Target Transitions class..... Left me wishing I was in Ben's class for that one. I heard posi...

Re: Rangemaster TAC-CON 2024: Plan NOW!
A buddy texted me a little while ago- they are already sold out and on a waitlist!
That's like 13 hours to sell out. And they opened at 6pm on a Sunday night!

Re: Obtaining Permission letters from Corps of Engineers
For anyone interested, turn times are pretty quick for the CoE. I wrote the FT Worth Dist in Dec. and got my permission letter in 3/4 weeks, then sent one to Tulsa Dist and got it back in 2 weeks!

It looks like it can! https://www.quora.com/Can-a-Chinook-fly-on-one-engine But more amazing is this: ‘Did you know that CH-47 crew can land the Chinook on water, shut down, climb up on top for a photo, then get back in, start up and take off?’ https://theaviationgeekclub.com/did-you-know-that...

Re: How early can you renew?
You should get a letter from DPS about 6 months before expiration letting you know you can go ahead and renew. I got my letter in early June and renewed a couple of weeks later, for a license that was expiring on October 5th. From renewal application to plastic in hand was about 2 weeks. Yep, that ...

Re: Rangemaster TAC-CON 2024: Plan NOW!
If you can get in, it's $500 well spent on training and Edu. I only get a few weekends a year to get away so while I want to focus on certain things- it's hard justify an entire weekend on any single class or topic. And the shorter blocks allow each of the trainers to give you the best and most help...

Re: Rangemaster TAC-CON 2024: Plan NOW!
You think it's safe to assume 4/1 before checking the sign ups for 24? Last year it was a 3-4? week lag from event to next sign up.
I'm not on FB (nor the 2 guys I go with each year) so it's a real chore to check daily. (I hate that they announce via FB, even though we are all on an email list.

How early can you renew?
I think I recall something from years ago saying you needed ot be inside 60 or 90 days for a renewal but can't find the info.
Anyone recall or know with certainty?
Just got my letter today.
Thanks!!
