I purchased the Ares Gear Ranger Belt a few months ago and don't regret it at all. It's a bit pricey, but the difference it made was amazing. If you are looking for a non-leather belt, I'd advise you to take a gander at this one. If you are looking for stiffness, this belt is about as stiff as it gets. I also carry a 1911 and this belt has made a significant difference in comfort.

I've wanted an Ares enhanced for quite some time but the sizing scares me a bit... no one sizes off pants size and that's all they list. Can you offer any insight to the sizing and what kind of adjustment range you have?
ETA- Sorry for the hijack, but rather than PM, I thought the OP may benefit from the answer if he's considering an Ares.
