The law defines intoxication and makes carrying while intoxicated a crime. But, one drink into a 185-lb man gives him a BAL of about .03.

ANY detectable BAL will result in SOME impairment. You may not look, act or smell drunk, but there will be some effect. You know how a glass of wine with a meal will affect you; if you'd give yourself to anyone after one drink, don't carry if you're gonna drink and vice versa. If you, like me, regard a 6-pack of beer as a warm-up for some real drinking, have a glass of wine, have a good meal, and don't give it a second thought.
