Aside from some office buildings and factories - which aren't really meant to be open to members of the general public anyway - I don't remember the last time I saw a valid PC30.06 sign in the Austin area.

A few places have "gunbusters" signs or non-compliant signs that mimic the PC30.06 requirements (for example, the proper wordage, but typewritten rather than in 1" letters) but since non-compliant signs have no legal standing, I ignore them.

Haven't had any run-ins with the local constabulary, but from what I've heard, they're not as generally antagonistic in the way some people say Houston cops are. Just follow the letter of the law and you should be OK.
