I received the same message, but IN ALL CAPS SCREAMING AT ME. I e-mailed back, very politely, that it's been 6 weeks since DPS signed for it on 1/28/08, and wanted to make sure they didn't need anything else from me. DH took his renewal last month & they had packet by the 10th IIRC, and his web info has not even updated to Processing App yet! At this rate he will expire before he gets the renewal in hand...
When I did my reneal in 11/07, it was running about4wks from receipt of pkt in Austin, to plastic in hand. I had mine well before my exp date. I cannot believe they suddenly got overwhelmed with paperwork. I wonder how many folks quit/laid off/fired there recently?
In the meantime, I just wait patiently, trying different holsters, handguns, carry styles, cover garments, etc. while carrying at the house.
