Re: Hooked on Wheel Guns

Your not the only one. My favorite gun is my Glock 26, but I seem to be carrying my S&W 640 the most. I usually pocket carry it, and that seems to be the most comfortable for me. I can't really pocket carry the Glock. It's funny how these things work out.

Re: Wife's perception on CHL

My wife was initially paranoid also. I just didn't make a huge deal about it. I carried all the time without her knowing it. When she finally found out I was carrying, she realized it wasn't that big of a deal. She realized that the vigilantly stereotype was wrong. Now she looks for 30.06 and 51% si...

Re: Moved Due To Criminal Element - Anyone Else?

We live a block away from Fondren South (SW Houston), which never was a great area, but now is a war zone after Katrina. We hear gun shots just about every night. This is the reason why I went and got my CHL. We also got a new dog (a 7 month old Boxer). We would move, but to be honest there is no pl...

Re: Observations after my first week carrying

2. Most places don't have a clue as to how to post a 30.06 or 51%. I can't begin to tell you how many times I actually walked into a place armed because they did not have the sign posted at the front door. This mainly happened in restaurants. They had the sign posted in the back at the little bar, ...

Observations after my first week carrying

1. Most people don't recognize what you are carrying when you are printing. At first I was going around paranoid that I was printing all the time. After three days of carrying and nobody noticing (including my wife), I started to relax. Now accidental flashing the gun is a whole different matter. 2....

First Time

I just got my CHL in the mail a couple of days ago. Since I work in a profession that does not allow carry at work, today was the first day that I carried. I was surprised how well it went. My wife didn't even know I was carrying while we were running errands most of the day (she hates guns, but all...

Re: Speed Strips in Houston

I got mine at Carter's Country on Wilcrest at 59. They are often in the display case with the revolvers.

I wouldn't use them for personal protection. That is just something I do no pinch pennies on. I use Hydra-Shoks in my .357.

Re: Monarch ammo in 38 spec. and 357 mag. jhp

HI you all I am writing from laredo, texas and we have an academy here locally. Seems to be that they only ammo readily available for revolvers is the monarch ammo. My question to you all is does anyone here have any experience with monarch ammo in 38 special and 357 magnum both in jhp? I would appr...

Re: CCW weapon recommendation?

I will throw in a vote for the 26/27 size Glocks. When I first got my CHL 4 or so months ago I carried my 5" 1911, or my Glock 17 and could conceal quite easily in a MTAC. I decided I needed something more discreet so went ahead and picked up a 26. Great gun, 10+1 on your hip, easy to shoot, v...

Oh the Agony!

Ok, so I have yet to wait as long as some others at there. Still, it is no fun. DPS received my packet on 12/5/07. They kindly cashed my check on 12/12/07. I still do not have a PIN. In fact I just find out about the whole PIN thing tonight. I did email them about that, so I'll see what happens. The...
