And bragging rights go to .....

A Colt, A Sig .... and a Glock 26. Two of the top three eatin' Blaser Aluminum, no less. Congrats to all "survivors". :clapping:

Re: So, you trust your centerfire semi-auto EXPLICITLY?

I had a student (Ryan) in CHL class last weekend shooting a tricked-out Springfield 1911. After class I mentioned this "torture test" and he was very interested. DNS/John, he e-mailed me this morning for details and I simply sent him the link to similar thread over at THR. He already has a couple thousand rounds of 185 grain reloads ready to burn ....

JohnKSa is the man with the plan. Go for it. A lot of folks will evidently be watching for the report.

From reading this and the related links, it seems the whole point of the exercise is to let folks who make statements like that prove it. Actions speak louder than words, so to speak. And that's primarily what the gun forums are full of - words.

From 12+ years of conducting CHL "demonstrations of proficiency", I can assure you, just like the Glocks and 1911s, the Sigs can and do fail to run flawlessly. The less-than-flawless performance is often related to magazines. And with the proposed "tortue test" requiring at least 7 magazines, to me, that just increases the probability of Murphy being able to do his thing. ;-)

I watched it too - and believe I saw a spot where he had a malfunction and it was edited. Anybuddy who's got an extra 10 minutes and 44 seconds - or whatever is was - is certainly welcome to watch it and see if they catch what I think I saw ...

Re: So, you trust your centerfire semi-auto EXPLICITLY?

Well, Fed-Ex just delivered my K-9 with a new trigger spring. But that's it - and no reply whatsoever (yet - if ever) to my e-mail last weekend about possible sponsorship.

Oh well, that's spring turkey season, so maybe better to hope for one good shot that day than spraying and praying with 1000 ... although it does sound fun.

That's what I was thinking. I've got a 10-year old Kahr K-9 back at the factory right now for the first warranty work (trigger spring hanging on bottom of frame) needed in 10+ years of being rode hard and put up wet in CHL classes. I may send an e-mail to Kahr's Marketing Honcho to see if they would like to put a new recoil spring in it, lube it as they see fit, and ship it back with at least 5 more magazines and a case of whatever brand of 9mm they think would give that puppy a chance of not getting constipated before the Glocks and 1911s begin to croak.
