Re: A Concerned American
Yeah, because the inconvenience of not being able to buy a beer in a dry county on Sunday morning is every bit as bad as stoning rape victims to death as adulterers and executing gays for being gay.DEB wrote:I agree don't get started. Don't get me started on religious fanatics passing laws that are different on Sunday than every other day of the week, like prohibiting beer & liquor sales during "church time" and similar religious-based laws that would make the Taliban proud.

Haters of religious people are the ones who use the rhetoric of the Taliban........not to mention that counties or cities are dry because that's the way the majority of voters wanted it at the time. Back then, that was democracy in action. Colleyville recently granted a local business the right to sell hard liquor to the Valero gas station at the corner of Glade and 121, after years of being a dry city in a dry county. Democracy in action.
Dude, you don't like it, pass around a petition like the owners of the Valero in Colleyville did. You do have the right to petition your government in redress of grievances. That is democracy in action. If you don't like the democratic process, then at least do the rest of us a courtesy and pipe down. Us "religious fanatics" are getting a little irritated at the constant stream of insults from the ignorant.
