Yep! As I recall, one year, they barbecued him.JALLEN wrote:Sure there were. In fact, about that time, a party or parties who no doubt wished to remain anonymous rustled a certain very famous steer right before Thanksgiving one year, apparently oblivious to Texas law which prescribed hanging for cattle rustling. Publicity likely brought this possibility to the attention of the miscreant(s), the steer was hastily returned to its rightful owners and dignitude, such as it was, restored. The Annoyed Man wrote:When you were in college, there were no animals yet.JALLEN wrote:You Aggies sure have some stories!
When I was in college, the Aggies were all Animal Husbandry majors, but somebody caught 'em and made 'em quit it!

GIG 'EM!!!
I don't know about Animal Husbandry (although I did take Animal Science classes), but when I was there in the mid 1970s, my political science prof made a pass at me once. He was drunk. He must have thought I looked like a goat or something........which made no kind of sense because I was a good lookin' kid back then — although I wasn't nearly as pretty then as I am now.

You sir, are a comic genius, and I salute you!treadlightly wrote:I think we should be understanding of this man's frustration.
He won physic's highest honors for unifying the forces of weak nuclear interactions and electromagnetism.
He had to leave gravity out of his equations. He couldn't explain it.
Can you imagine the self-torture he would go through if he had to lecture to armed students? Even the least promising student's firearm, with its gravity-influenced trajectory, would mock him. Every Bubba's son, able to hit the target with the natural skill of a country boy potting a rabbit, would force him to admit even the dimwitted end of his class bell curve uses with precision the gravity he failed to understand.
This is every bit as tragic as what Lord Kelvin must have endured when his cherished luminiferous aether assumed a posture of repose on the ash heap of forgotten physics that didn't work.
So sad.

How's he going to tell? And when the university has to start refunding tuition to students whom he has busted and evicted from his classroom IN VIOLATION OF STATE LAW, they'll put an end to it soon enough.
