Thank you sir! I will. The last time I did this regimen over a period of a year or so, I lost 90 pounds. It consists of 12 week cycles: 6 weeks on at 500 calories/day, with daily HCG injections; and 6 weeks off at 1000 calories/day without the injections. Rinse and repeat until goal is reached. I kept those 90 lbs off for a long time, but I got derailed and gained back a fair amount of that lost weight over the past year due to a cascading series of illnesses and injuries, with forced inactivity. I'm on day 3 of 500/day, and other than a little fatigue, I'm feeling OK. I'll miss the fellowship, but right now, the best thing I can do for my own discipline is to stay away from where food is served and watching a bunch of other people eating it.Bitter Clinger wrote:OMG! That is brutal. Concentration camp levels. Training for when we get rounded up and sent to FEMA internment camps? Good luck, stay strong, God bless! The Annoyed Man wrote:No, there isn't. It's just that I'm on a (doctor supervised) 500 calorie a day diet for the next 6 weeks, and until I get into the maintenance phase, I just don't need the temptation.Flightmare wrote:Nothing wrong with fellowship and coffee my friend. The Annoyed Man wrote:I won't be making this one. Why, yes, yes they do. I just didn't list everything available.Ameer wrote:Don't they have barbacoa breakfast tacos up north? The Annoyed Man wrote:It's a small serving of scrambled egg and something else, like chopped ham, cheese, etc., folded up into a smallish tortilla, forming a small burrito-like doodad. Yeah, she had a nasty respiratory infection, which I had just gotten over. Then I got it again, and now it seems to be mostly behind me, but we're both taking a long time to recover. This one is a booger.Flightmare wrote:Glad she is feeling better. She was under the weather last month if I recall. The Annoyed Man wrote:I plan to come. TAW says she'll come this time.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast
Sorry pal, she's been laid low by this thing. The roasted poblanos are languishing in the fridge, and will probably have to be replaced by the time she's well enough to cook them.RogueUSMC wrote:She could still cook though, right? The Annoyed Man wrote:I called her when I was on the way home to let her know I was on the way......she's totally lost her voice. This is not going to be good.
Anyway, I had a really good time. It was good to have some grown up conversation, good to reconnect with some old friends, and good to meet new ones.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast
I'm bringing The Annoyed Woman with me. But I have to get her home at a reasonable hour......as she plans to spend the rest of the day making her world-famous boudain-stuffed chile-rellenos for me for Father's Day dinner. Yes, she's that kind of cook, that she invented chile-rellenos stuffed with boudain.Jusme wrote:The Annoyed Man wrote:OK, I've put it on my calendar. Unless something comes up, I plan to make it.
Yeah, I have already made it a "unless I'm dead" situation, I'll be there. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast
We've had two or three of our skeet gatherings at Alpine. I'm not opposed to meeting there for another skeet shoot, but I'm not familiar enough with that area to know of any decent nearby eateries.hovercat wrote:Alpine range? Purchase a box of their targets,, you can split a box between twork or three, and no charge to use their throwers. Not a skeet course, just a row of spring throwers, but fun. They also have skeet, more expensive, rifle and pistol $12, might be more on weekend.Jusme wrote:It's not part of the plan right now, TAM mentioned it, in the original thread topic: https://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php ... 5#p1155128C-dub wrote:Someone mentioned busting some clays in the other thread. Is that something on the itinerary? I am off that weekend and considering coming down. I've also didn't know Rudy's had breakfast and really really like tacos of all kinds with rare exception.
Whether or not there will be any clay busting on the menu is not a deal breaker. I only ask so I'll know what to bring along.
I wouldn't mind including that if someone has a place in mind, close by. But it may be more driving than some will want to do.
