And, a family friend owns the biggest commercial BBQ pit building businesses in the country, Ole Hickory Pits. So, I got spoiled on really great BBQ ribs and pulled pork.
OK, back on pork in Memphis, at least for the ribs, I like Charles Vergos' Rendezvous (http://www.hogsfly.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)...it looks like the kind of place you'd get the tar beat out of you while walking there (down an alley) but it's GREAT!
Seriously, this stuff is crazy good...it's all the goodies/sauces *that* it's fried in! Check out the website (I got turned onto this place by Diners Drive-ins & Dives, I try to hit those places while traveling)...alright...how many miles to Memphis...and at an average speed of....?
