You should have received a letter from DPS back in May. The are not sending the entire renewal packet, even though the statute requires it. The letter is very easily missed in the junk mail, so I recommend that you just go to the DPS web site and start the renewal process there. The renewal times are all over the map. My son just got his back in 40 days. I would definitely take the class as soon as you get your packet and send it in early. Be sure to read the "CHL Checklist" here on the forum.
