In my instructor classes, DPS never stated that churches, etc. were off-limits without notice pursuant to TPC §30.06. That doesn't mean it didn't happen in your instructor's class; especially if one particular attorney was teaching that part of the class.

As others have said, your instructor is wrong, not only about churches being off-limits without a 30.06 sign, but also in claiming that churches have a duty to post 30.06 signs.
