Re: Open Carry - License visible to the public as well

This thread is closed. I want to offer my apology to sircas (OP) for some of the responses you have received by Members who know better. While there are very good reasons why displaying one's CHL would not be prudent, our rules require that those reasons be stated respectfully.

How? Anyone who wants to know your address is going to have to get closer than any BG should be able to unless he beats you. I don't really see any benefit but the negativity is just over the top.
And what stops a BG from doing just that? Constructive criticism not negativity. The OP posted to get peoples opinions and thats what he is getting. If you want to use your concealed handgun license to open carry fine, but I dont think having your personal information out for everyone to see is a good idea.
how would anyone do that without you knowing? If you just let them then they can take your wallet out of your pocket just as easy. I mean you may not like wearing an ID but that a badguy will know where you live is not a real reason against it. I can public records you plate number and in 30 seconds get your address. Don't want BG's to know about your guns then don't OC. Pretending they can read the tiny printing on your ID is just silly.
Depending upon proximity, age, vision, there's nothing silly about it. I've read various id tags people were wearing and my eyes are far from young. I could also hold my cell phone by my side and shoot a photo of a CHL on a belt or holster with the flash turned off and no one would know.
