Good for you. Similar situation in that I put on a lot of weight after I graduated college, by still drinking but stopping the exercising. Water is totally underrated as a source of losing weight. Cutting out everything but water and skim milk will do wonders on its own. Cut out juices too, as they are generally loaded with sugar. And yea I tend to think (with no scientific foundation whatsoever) that the body is too smart to be fooled by artificial sweeteners in diet sodas and somehow converts those pseudo-sugars into calories. This, coupled with more exercise, and I've lost the weight and am back to college days. Also, don't underestimate the power of eating a high fiber cereal for breakfast. It curbs your hunger and causes you to eat much less at lunch and dinner. Simple but effective steps.gregthehand wrote:I'm in the process of losing a lot of weight. I've lost about 40 lbs and then Christmas and the Vegas trip came and I gained about 10 back. I mostly eat a very regimented diet, drink lots of water, dont' drink sodas (even diet), and I walk about 2 miles a day.
Giving up beer also really really helps, but hey let's not go crazy here folks
