Re: This makes for an interesting quandry

As long as we are clear on that, I agree with what has been said. Leave it concealed in the car and there is no infraction. It helps me feel more comfortable that I have actively sought a friendship with our Chief of Police (we have our own certified police force on campus; I'm not sure what ACC has...

Re: This makes for an interesting quandry

Let's make sure we are saying the same thing here. Keep it concealed in your car in a public parking area, not on your person. I work at a university as well and I'm not comfortable with it, but I disarm when I park my truck at work, and re-arm when I get in my truck to leave.

.45 Glock vs. Sig

Help me out guys. Glock Model 30 or Sig Sauer P220? It's for concealing and I can't decide. All factors are relevant. Any experiences/preferences/reasoning?

Out of State

My sister (a CHL holder in Texas) has had to take up residence in Pennsylvania to finish her residency at Penn State Hospital. Her license is going to expire on her b-day this year and is wondering if she can do anything to keep it up. Traveling to Texas to take a renewal course is out of the questi...

Re: 2GGs vs. 1BG Scenario

I was thinking of a scenario where, instead of trying to draw and return fire immediately, you take cover and shoot. If you are with someone, they may be next to you behind cover and able to assist. I've never been in this situation (and hopefully never will be) but if someone came in to some locati...

2GGs vs. 1BG Scenario

Sorry if this has been covered; I'm still new here. I heard a personal defense/tactical weapons expert talking on Tom Gresham's Gun Talk a few months back and was curious about something he said. He always carries 2 CHs and stated that, given the opportunity, he would give his back-up firearm to som...

Re: Recourse at a Bar?

Absolutely not. I figured that question would come up, which is why I said that I was the DD. He initially asked how much I had had to drink (standard first question at a bar setting, I assume) and I said, "none." He believed me because, the issue of me possibly having drank any alcohol ne...

Re: Recourse at a Bar?

I hold contempt for the few TABC officers I have come into contact with, but I don't want to generalize the entire field. I assume there are some good ones and some bads ones, but the only ones I have had dealings with were extremely rude, arrogant, and seemed to be on a power trip.

Recourse at a Bar?

I was at a bar (obviously a 51%) with a buddy a few weeks ago. I'm was the DD and he was having a pretty good time. My CH was in my truck in the door panel, which was parked in the parking lot. When we decided to leave, we found we were blocked in by another truck and my buddy kicked the other truck...
