Dont carry it on your person inside the car. Put it somewhere besides where you keep your insurance, so it doesnt become visible when you open the glove box or console. It is legal to have a gun in your vehicle if it is concealed. Their seems to be a question as to wheter or not you can actually carry it, ie in a holster on your person while in your car without a CHL. This way you are covered under the castle doctrine. If the question of the plastic comes up, explain that it has been issued, and is in the mail. As I understand it, even if you hold a current valid CHL, you cant carry the gun without the plastic. That being said, I am left to wonder what the difference is between your house, where you can carry, and your vehicle, which under the castle doctrine is an extension of your home.

I put mine in the center console, and all my paperwork is in the glove box. To and from the truck or car, it is in my bag with the computer and other stuff I have to tote around all day.
