Well I've made my decision. I'm Not going to buy a new gun. Not at this time. I have instead decided to use the money that was alloted for a gun on ammo, reloading components for current guns, and training.
It was a difficult decision, but in the end it came down to not really being able to decide between a single action and the Glock. I can never have too much ammo. Also, I have had no "formal" training and it is high time I rectify that.
Thanks for all the help and opinions.
BTW, the Barett is just a liiitle out of the price range.

I am leaning more to getting the single action revolver, unless I can find a way to weasle both guns.
I have nothing against Glocks. I even has a g23 a while back. They're great guns and they will work everytime, but they're boring. I'm a 1911 guy at heart. I mean with a 1911 if you don't like the looks you can change grips. Grips also function to completely change feel. There is something to being able to customize your gun on a whim. With a glock, what can you customize? Aside from a couple of trigger connectors, and having slide refinished, there just isn't much, but they do work as intended everytime.
If both guns aren't in the cards, then the Glock will probably win out due to the cost of ammo.

Hence my delima(sp? too lazy too check). I have carry guns and fun guns ( the evil one, sks, milsurps).
Thank God that I'm in Texas and have the fortune of having so many choices. If I were in California this would be easy. Carry, self defense, and most anything fun would be out. A single shot bolt action rifle would be about my only choice.

Help me buy a gun
I need some help buying a new gun. Financial help is always good, but what I would like is opinions. I am being allowed to buy a gun to celebrate new baby on the way, also it will be the last for a while with diapers and double day care costs. Don't get me wrong, I want a new gun, but I don't know whether I want something serious or fun.
The front runners are a Glock 19 or a single action revolver.
Revolver - Have a Taurus snub, but that's it.
Centerfire semi auto - Have 2 1911 style
Rimfire semi auto - check
Rimfire rifle - check
Centerfire bolt rifle - check. Nothing scoped, but I don't hunt yet so not much need for a scope.
Centerfire semi auto rifle - check. Have a few evil guns.
Black powder - None
Single action revolver - none
Shotgun - none. I need one just don't want one. not other reason.
Milsurp - check. Mausers, mosins, sks's.
I don't have a large collection and I do want more, I guess since I want them all I can't just pick one.
My budget is around $500 Maybe a little more for sights and leather if I go with the Glock.
So, now its your turn. Buy me a gun! :D
