Wow. I used to live in some apartments very close to there just a year ago.

Part of the reason I decided to get my CHL were some incidents that happened at my apartments.

One: I was coming home from work one day and, when I pulled into the parking lot to my apartment, I witnessed the Dallas SWAT team enter an apartment in the building next to mine. The guy in the apartment was apparently running a meth lab. He took a shot at the SWAT officers and they returned fire, killing him.

Two: About two weeks later, about 11:00 pm, I hear a helicopter right above my building and see a spotlight outside my bedroom window. I look through the blinds in time to see a guy jump into the patio of the apartment behind mine. I looked to the left and saw 3 Dallas PD officers with flashlights obviously searching for someone. I went outside and told them were the guy was and they caught him.

Needless to say, as soon as my lease was up, I moved out.

It's horrible what happened here, and is yet one more reason why it's not only our rights as citizens, but our DUTY as citizens, to be armed and assist the police in protecting our communities.
