Re: Gun owner - landlord discrimination ?

1. Invite him to go shooting with you.

2. Tell him that the CHL is a certified 'good-guy' card issued by the State of Texas, verified by a background check. Tell him what it takes to get a CHL:

CHL QUALIFICATIONS
Legal resident of the state for six months preceding date of application.
At least 21 years of age (18 if member or veteran of US armed forces).
No felony conviction – ever.
Not charged with commission of a felony, criminal mischief rising to the level of a felony, Class A, or Class B misdemeanor.
Not a fugitive from justice. Not chemically dependent.
Not incapable of exercising sound judgment with respect to the proper use and storage of a handgun.
No conviction for criminal mischief rising to the level of a felony in past 10 years.
No conviction for Class A or Class B misdemeanor in past 5 years.
Qualified to purchase a handgun under federal and state law.
No delinquent child support. No delinquent state or local taxes.
Not currently restricted under a court protective order.
Attended approved CHL training class taught by an approved CHL instructor.
Passed written examination on:
• weapons and use of deadly force; • handgun use, proficiency, and safety;
• nonviolent dispute resolution; • proper handgun storage practices.
Passed range qualification and physically demonstrated proficiency in the use of a handgun and in handgun safety procedures.

Ask him whether he thinks he'll find a new renter that is as reliable, responsible, and law-abiding as you are.

3. Move out and don't look back.
