So? There are plenty of things that are absolutely legal and lawful that officers have no right to prevent you from doing that are still suspicious in some circumstances and can cause a lawful stop by police.

You don't need to comply with any requests you are not required to by law, but if the cops have a differing view of what's legal you don't start yelling about your rights and physicly resisting. You may state that you do not wish to comply and you do not agree with said actions to get it on the "record" but we don't hold court out in the field.
