Congratulations! You finally got it!thejtrain wrote:Finally got my plastic yesterday (8 days from website update to plastic in hand), and carried for the first time today out to lunch with the family. A little nervous but I've been carrying concealed around the house since taking the course so it was pretty comfortable and went quite well (which means, neither my wife, nor the sheep around us, nor any potential wolves around had any idea they were in the presence of a sheepdog).
God bless Texas!

Oh, and watching the mailbox like a hawk!

Sent an email (the first) on Monday (Day 96) politely requesting status, if it isn't too much trouble. Hoping to hear back that all is well (fingerprints good, etc.) and they're just waiting on the fed.gov & the background check.

Still waiting.....
Go figure....thejtrain wrote:Congrats Uglee! That gives me profound hope 'cause we were actually in the same class @ Bass Pro SATX, and DPS received our packets on the exact same day (5 March). What's interesting is that mine went to "Processing" almost a month sooner than yours, but yours got issued first. Weird, huh?

3/01 - sent completed CHL application
3/04 - DPS received completed CHL application
3/13 - DPS responds to e-mail "Your application has not been entered into the system. It is likely going though the processes required before entry. When a completed application is entered you will be sent a confirmation letter with your PIN Number."
3/26 - Presently waiting......no pin, nothing!
60 days for a PIN number? What are they doing up there in Austin?.....PetrucciFan wrote:Well, after my last post, I thought I should probably call and get an update since it's been almost 60 days.....I just got off the phone with Simone and she said that they started my background check and that my PIN was mailed out earlier this week.....I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!!
