Re: 150 Days today

Sure, you can check on the status of your CHL. One must have one's PIN to do it. Go to Texasonline.com, then to Online Services and then click on the CHL leads to eventually one that will ask for your driver's license; SS, birthdate and your PIN.

In fact, Mrs. Oldgringo's status changed today to: Application Completed - license issued or certificate active . :woohoo

That's the message you're looking for.

This is a long story - some 160 days long :banghead: . Details will follow once the plastic is in hand.

Re: 150 Days today

Senator Robert Nichols' office called today and said they'd been told that Mrs Oldgringo's CHL was approved and in the mail. A subsequent call to CHL (after a long wait) was answered by a young guy (?) who very tersely informed Mrs. Oldgringo that her CHL had been placed in the mail this morning. We'll see?

If it was indeed placed in the mail this AM, it should be in hand Saturday. Stay tuned!

Details to follow - once the CHL is in hand. ( :coolgleamA: there are CHL lurkers on this forum :rules: )

Re: 150 Days today

We background check cannot be done until a good set of fingerprints have been received. We cannot issue a license until all steps of the process has been completed. This includes background investigations. :confused5

Above is this morning's e-mail from CHS. Does anyone know what it means in light of yesterday's e-mail? I'd somehow read yesterday's e-mail to say that her CHL had, at long last, been approved. Maybe so - maybe not, who knows?

Re: 150 Days today

Received an e-mail today after e-mails sent to Austin yesterday: "The fingerpinrts were accepted this go around. Your background checks have come back as of today. Your license should be issued soon".

The website still says PROCESSING APPLICATION. Hard copy letters (6) go out tomorrow. Enough is enough and 150+ days is uncalled for, unreasonable and way too much.

Re: 150 Days today

Thanks for the advice vis-a-vis e-mails.

E-mails sent this date to Gov., Lt. Gov., Senator and Representative. Hard copy letters go out tomorrow...for whatever good they'll do? :banghead:

Re: 150 Days today

Thanks everybody.

E-mail is much akin to verbal conversation and therefore easy to delete or deny. The next correspondence, starting tomorrow, will be in writing. There will be a written record of who said and did, or did not do, what.

Remember this: "If it's not in writing, it didn't happen".

Re: 150 Days today

This is for a new CHL. Her Instructor reviewed it for completeness and accuracy prior to submittal. Thanks for your interest and suggestion.

Letter tomorrow to Ms. Jan Coffey. Letters to Governor, Attorney General, State Senator and Representative with copies of e-mails and responses at end of week. Enough is enough!

150 Days today

On 18 December 2007, Mrs. Oldgringo submitted her Instructor reviewed application. On 4 January 2008, the state of Texas cashed her check. One month ago today, 18 April 2008, Mrs. Oldgringo submitted her fourth (4th) and FAST taken set of fingerprints. She still has not received her CHL.

Any suggestions?
