Do I have to go through that process again?
IANAL, nor have I slept in a Holiday Inn Express or gone to a Drive-In movie lately, but if you have a current Texas CH license, just do the internet renewal thinghy. I would suggest that you do not shoot any more people until after you have your new license in hand...unless you just, absolutely, positively have to.

Good luck and God Bless. :tiphat:

Well, both of 'em came today. Let's see, our CHL's were received by DPS on 24 October and our renewed CHL's were received by us today, 7 December. That looks like about 32 business days - portal to portal. Now take out the office disruption of Holloween and a national election plus three days of real holidays and that ain't too shabby of a turnaround, eh?

Fingerprints and photos are not required since they should be able to use what they have in file. As to how long it will take, They received my documents back on 11/05 and still does not show in the web site when I try to check the status. Wrote two e-mails and still waiting for answers. Does anyone have an idea how long is taking in average for a renewal?
You'll ultimately get a form e-mail that announces that 'they' don't consider a renewal issue overdue until 45 days and an initial license issue until after 60 days. This is 'their' way of sayin', "cool your jets".

Thursday was a holiday and Friday was a leave/vacation taking day. Monday and Tuesday will be 'show and tell' days. There may be some processing activity by Wednesday.

* Paid state fees on 19 October electronically
* Attended Renewal Class on 21 October

* CHL website states still awaiting required submittals 15 November on both CHL 100 apps
The website indicates that mine is 'pending manufacturing' as of 21 November. When checking on Mrs. Oldgringo's renewal, which should be same status as mine, this red message comes up in a box:

:headscratch Anybody else ever see this. I think WildBill may know something..... :grumble

Oh well, when the holiday is over next Wednesday,or so, we'll learn more....maybe?

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with your renewals. I remember Mrs. Oldgringo had issues with her initial license. If I were paranoid, I would think that your are on their list. :headscratch
The thought has crossed my mind. Surely there has been some personnel turnover in the past five years down in the bowels of the DPS building where CHL licenses are processed ?
On the CH licensing page, you are asked to contact Customer Service  if you have any questions. Well, on their form :rules: there is a *required* space for your telephone number. Since contacting Customer Service with their e-form, I've been getting about a half dozen robocalls per day and night. Do you reckon.... :confused5

If there is any good news, our current CH licenses don't expire until February, 2013.

It took hard copy letters to Gov, Lt. Gov. DPS and State Senator to free up Mrs. Oldgringo's license on the 160th day after her original submittal. Surely, we won't have to go through that again? We're gittin' too old to have to fool around with this....er, uh...stuff. ITMT, the state has full use of our money....
