Absurdity from the Antis

For a split-second I thought this headline might lead to an article describing how peaceful and safe NRA conventions are. GUN INJURIES FALL DURING NRA CONVENTION Instead, CNN is using a just-published study by the New England Journal of Medicine to assert that we (NRA members) are so dangerous that ...

NRA vs CNN Tonight 9PM

CNN is hosting a TownHall 8PM Central Standard Time tonight on gun control. Given the outfit involved, we know in which direction it will slant. Surprisingly (to me), they reached out to the NRA. The very capable Dana Loesch will attend. The National Rifle Association will participate in CNN's natio...

Re: Recommend a gun range near Cedar Hill

For what it may be worth; It has been my experience that newbies are far more comfortable at outdoor ranges. The dbs, smoke, and close quarters in most indoor ranges intimidates them. I don't know which if any outdoor ranges have good rental collections. One of the posh "guntry clubs" with...

Re: Gun Safe Recommendations

I'd like to mention a significant detail that most buyers, myself included, don't pay enough attention to; the interior. I was very proud to have made a great deal on a premium safe. I chose an interior layout, but didn't notice how flimsily it was assembled. Like many others, it uses little shelf c...

Re: Dash Cam

This is what I have. I've been happy with it and would never go back to not having at least a forward-looking camera. The Mobius is an inexpensive multipurpose action camera and an excellent 1080p dashcam with good sound and lots of adjustment, different lenses available and many mounting accessorie...

Re: LTC Holder Pulls Firearm In Park

Googling; "Mansfield, TX, Rose Park, gun," produced the usual page of links with story summations/descriptions that are interesting to compare: FOX4news.com: "Mansfield PD: Man pulls out gun at busy park in self-defense" dfw.CBS.local.com: "Man pulls gun on children in park....

Survey: Online audience evaluation of gun rights & regs.

The U of Wis. Madison Journalism Dept. is conducting a study to see how well the little people understand and accept the "fact checkers" when instructed that the good things they read about gun ownership are lies. (FYI: Conservapedia, Campus Reform and others, rate the University of Wiscon...

Re: Natchez Shooters Supplies/Caldwell 6"-9" Bipod

I think I first bought from Natchez back in '06 or '08. Mostly it has been ammo, but I've jumped for a few of their sales on other items. They often have a brand of range ammo I like, and they had limited, but available, stocks of 22LR back when it was scarce. I can't recall ever having had a proble...

Pictures like that help me remind the ugly old mug I see in the mirror that he still has reason to be grateful.

Rimfire Shotgun

FOX News correspondent Amy Kellogg just reported that the Berlin attack suspect was carrying a ".22 caliber shotgun" when the Italian police stopped him for questioning. Here I've been using a .22 rifle with birdshot to exterminate rats in the barn, when maybe one of those would be better....

Re: OLD STEEL: 73-Year-Old Outdraws, Kills Teen Thugs In St. Louis

When I see this sort of story I often google the name of the criminal or victim--to see where and how the story is being reported. The result is almost always what I expect, the bias of the press is plain to see.

Beware of madness under the guise of mission.

This illuminating and cautionary little story has been widely noticed by the pro 2A community, yet I can find it reported in just one "mainstream" site: 59 year old Ricky Paul Smith of Overland Park, KS, was so outraged by the sight of a man legally carrying a firearm that he wrested it fr...
