TexasComputerDude wrote:I've got a new plan, I found an old stationary bike in one of our sheds and I've put it in my living room. so now any time I'm watching tv, playing wii, or working on my computer I plan to be peddling, I might not be able to run very fast or far, but I'm one peddling fool.

I figure if I watch 4 hours of tv a day, I can peddle for 4 hours a day and see where it leads me. lol.
good idea... i need to build some sort of desk for my bike so i can stick my laptop on it and work. I have always thought about getting one of those mini pedal things you put under your desk. Good luck man... anything that might help you from having to get buchtered like a hog with that lapband stuff :???:

I cheated yesterday.... they had a ton of pizza brought in for a training class and there were left overs and i caved in and had one.. just one... im glad at that.. i usualy eat 5 or 6 peices..
going out of town this weekend to electra to tend to my grandparents graves. A lot of manual labor that should burn a few calories...

I was dissapointed to hear that the DQ is closed... where are all the old men going to sit and drink 5c coffee all day???? I was informed that they did build a sonic so there is at least one restraunt there now. It has a sit in and eat area. Gotta love small texas oil towns. I am going to try to find a land broker out there and see what the prices for acerage are going for, Looking for someplace to hunt/camp on the cheap.

I havent lost anymore weight, but the belt went down to the last notch... gotta go belt shopping again! :hurry:

Re: Weight Loss thread....

Started yesterday on getting in full fighting shape again. every 30 minutes the alarm clock on my phone goes off and i have to do 15 situps and 15 pushups. Next week it will be 20, then 25 the following, then 30, etc. I found out my 10 year HS reunion is in august so I have until then to drop some lbs and gain some muscle mass. Cooked a bunch of food sunday for the week that will hopefully last me until friday as I am now compleatly and totaly broke. Found out friday that my roommate is moving out and he cant pay this months rent. He had it in his head that we pay rent for the month coming, not the month past. so he felt it wasnt neccessary to pay me his half of the rent due on the 1st, and did not give me any warning so I could make other financial arrangements. So my trip down to PSC for the NRA instructor training had to be canceled at the last moment. It has just given me a source of anger that has helped me stay focused these last few days.

261.5

going to cut off all but 2 snacks a day. even healthy snacks add up.

Got me some distilled water going to do a 1 week purge to flush out sodium and other nasty stuff.

My new goal is to wear my old 1x martial arts school shirt to my reunion. It goes on now... but i look horrible. Going to try to drop as much as possible or fill it with muscle. I dont mind showing through a shirt as long as its muscle and not gut. :biggrinjester:

Re: Weight Loss thread....

something to keep in mind with walls as well... measure your body.. not just your gut... measure your calves, your thighs, your chest in all 3 areas, your arms, etc... .a lot of times when your body hits a wall.. your measurements starts adjusting for the better.... There was a peroid when i didnt loose a single lb in a month, but lost 2 inches off my waist and 2 off each thigh.

TexasComputerDude wrote:have any of yall considered having lapband? I may be having that this summer if my insurance decides to cover it.

I have gone from 1.5 2 liters of coke per day to none. I guess thats a whole lot o calories lol.

so far in the past 9 months I've lost 50lbs, gained back 30lbs in the last 2 months, and lost 5lbs in the past couple days. I got off my diet when some gang bangers shot my little brother (ok he's 22) in the chest with a shotgun from around 15 yards, which incidentally lead me here and 100% made me stop screwing around at applying for my CHL. He's a lucky man to have survived. I took the class 3 weeks after he was shot.
Sorry to hear about your brother.

As far as lapband goes, im not into it. It requires a lifestyle change to work right and if im going to commit to my lifestyle change then i might as well loose it naturally.

Re: Weight Loss thread....

I only ended up with some bruses and scratches

Spent the long weekend cooking and cleaning. I made 20 meals and froze them, mostly chicken with some sort of veggie or bean with it. scale says 262.0 this morning. Feeling pretty good. Going without carbs or sugars for 2 weeks.

Re: Weight Loss thread....

One of the problems I have is that I can not eat most veggies, and i cant eat any fruit.

I get a gag reflex and out it goes.... :ack:

It has to do with the textures of the foods.

I can not eat a sliced tomato... but i can eat salsa or tomato sauce with no issues.

Fresh green beans are a no no... but canned cooked grean beans are ok.

Same for carrots... cant just sit and eat a carrot. But sliced carrots that have been cooked in a stew are fine.

It has seriously cut down on the amount of "heathly" snacks in my life.

I love tuna, i just cant eat it alone, it has to have spices or salsa or something mixed with it.

Re: Weight Loss thread....

back on track, 264.2 almost a lb down from yesterday.

My martial arts instructor is going for his next dan(rank) friday night so i was helping him review all his material.

May or may not have an intense workout tonnight, depends on if he wants to just relax and stretch and prepare mentaly, or work on last minute physical stuff.

today it was two of those packets of tuna for lunch, one lemon pepper and one sweet and spicy. The sweet and spicy one was excellent. It did not leave the dry stuck to your mouth taste most tuna does.

I got the south beach books last night from my mother. If i do loose the 8-12lb in the first week like the book says I will back below where i lost it last time. Looks like i lifestyle i can live with. I was previously doing high protien lean meat, lots of brown rice, lots of beans previously and it worked well. This will also let me get some of their south beach premade meals so i wont get off track on crazy days/nights when i reallllly dont feel like messing with food.

Re: Weight Loss thread....

Those are the goals I am trying to reach myself... to see a fellow forum guy do it gives me renewed hope and is exactly what i was wishing this thread will do, perhaps this will end up one of the great epic threads on here.

Update from yesterday..

I was a baaaad bad boy.... :cryin

had a day from heck yesterday at work. I didnt get to eat my lunch until 4:30 and i was running around trying to get to altex electronics and back for this emergancy i was trying to fix. I stoppped by taco bell and grabbed 3 of their 79c burritos

I went home so stressed that i did not go to class, i finished off a bottle of vodka and played grand theft auto IV.

Stepped on the scale this morning and to my surprise i didnt do to bad. 265.2 down from yesterday so i guess its a victory.

I did pushups this morning with my feet on the bathtub until I could not feel my arms anymore. Got my heart racing and woke me up better than any caffene could.

My mother had the south beach diet book, I emailed her asking if i could borrow it.

Tactical_Texan_CHL wrote:Well. I ditched the peanut butter crackers and chocolate chip granola bars in the office. I replaced them with apples and carrot sticks. I also replenished the bottled water supply and got rid of all soft drinks. I've got a bunch of tuna for lunches. I'm cutting down on the client lunches also. Maybe I'll start scheduling my visits for after lunch instead. Still riding the bike. I try to ride every day at least down to the nearby park and back which is a mile. If I have time, I take a longer ride.

Re: Weight Loss thread....

good idea, i have a treadmil and a weight vest, but i usualy only use the vest for sparring drills or pushup/situps when im feeling rather masochistic. I should start jogging on the treadmil while watching a movie, my problem with the treadmil has always been boredom making a short time seem longer than it is. Perhaps the movie will distract me.

266.0, up a tad, im sure its some sort of water retention or something or other, i have not increased my intake. I had a few tiny upswings last time i did the weight loss thing and they always went back down below what they were.

I did not get to workout however last night due to disk network screwing up a simple receiver swap for the 2nd time in a row, now i have to wait for a 3rd tech.between 12 to 5pm ends up 8:30pm and the guy brings a defective receiver, and no spares on the truck. I have been a loyal customer with no issues to complain about since 2003 but this one is getting me angry. This next one is supposed to be a field supervisor. :mad5

Re: Weight Loss thread....

I did not get a chance to step on the scale this morning, forgot to turn back on my alarm so i was in rush mode. I did get to cook up some food sunday night but not very much due to the power going off over and over again. Something is wrong with the water heater in my apt and if its trying to heat water it blows the main breaker if i run any other "big ticket" item in the apt. (stove, dish washer, AC, etc).

Ate one of my cooked meals for breakfast this morning, but grabbed a frozen for lunch. I feel good, just gotta stick with it.

Tonnight I plan to work myself at class until I cant feel my arms or legs. I need to stop restraining myself. I spend a lot of time focusing on the other students to help correct them and not as much focusing on my own workout.
