I received a reply back from a Houston reporter - There is a delay in Bryant's sentencing, it's now set for February 22. He's still out on bond and will now get to spend the holidays with his family. There's no word on what the government received for the six month delay.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
This is just very strange, I can't find any stories about former officer Bryant being sentenced. I do find lots of them saying his sentencing would be held August 24, and the woman that made the false 911 calls being sentenced to 40 months. I also can't find any stories talking about a delay of Bryant being sentenced. I've even sent emails to reporters that have covered details of this awful story in the past, and I've had zero replies. What am I missing?

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
This week, Ex policeman Bryant is scheduled to be sentenced. Tuesday August 24 for destruction, alteration or falsification of records. He wrote a false supplemental report saying he helped Ex-officer Goines with a drug buy at the Harding address where the illegal raid happened. Bryant has supposedly been cooperating since his guilty plea, but, until some major questions of this case are answered, I'll withhold judgement on his cooperation. I don't know what the sentencing guidelines are, but 10 years sounds like a good starting point if you ask me.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
A much more in-depth accounting of what happened today, but still no solid answers about how, or why the homeowners were killed. We may never know the true, honest answers.
“When I made the false phone calls to 911 … I wasn’t in my right mind,” she said. “I made a bad decision. I’m sorry for it. I never meant for anyone to die the way they did. I’m so sorry for my 911 telephone call, my false phone call that I made, your honor. That’s it.”

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
May I suggest we all keep our eyes and ears open tomorrow, the woman who placed a series of false 911 calls setting in motion the raid on Harding street is being sentenced on June 8, 2021. Lets hope some questions are answered, and she gets some serious time for her crime. She's already a convicted felon, so the prosecutor should be able to get 3 to 5 years easily. Anything under three years is an insult to the Homeowners that were killed.

That, I agree with. It would have been big news, Squad 15 makes a bIg bust on Harding Street.philip964 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 11:13 amHad Goins not been shot by friendly fire, he would have been able to plant the drugs he had in his car in the house and it would have been big news that evening at 6 pm.baseballguy2001 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 10:22 am I'm not sure I agree with your analysis. I think the whole house of cards fell because a couple of officers were seriously wounded during the execution of the search warrant. That led to the discovery that the warrant was obtained because one of the officers perjured himself. If none of the officers had been wounded, and only the homeowners killed, none of this would have seen the light of day until much later, if ever.

“I’ll be back for Harding Street because it happened on my watch.” - Art is leaving for Miami before the trials start, but he'll be back for them.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
If you haven't read the report Art tried to bury, go download it and read it. I've been asking all this time who has been supervising these 'officers'? The report answers part of that, and that answer is not good. (2019-Houston-Police-Department-Narcotics-Division-Operational-Review) The authors of the report did a review of about two years worth of recent cases. In about half of them, the paperwork documenting the investigation was missing or late. Late warrants, late CI payment information, incomplete incident reports, missing evidence, it goes on and on.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
The answer is clear. His supervisors, had they been doing any oversight, would have found his lies, cover ups, illegal warrants, the works. The entire leadership team should be summarily dismissed.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
Bulls eye. HPD does an investigation and determines one of their own was unsupervised, lied to a court, (quite possibly for years) to get a no-knock warrant. But, the Chief at that time, believes his officers still had probable cause for checking on the house, and maybe the raid itself. The Feds investigation determined the 911 call was false, throwing the entire case out the window. Meanwhile, the two innocent homeowners are still just as dead. How does the Chief sleep at night, much less, keep his job?

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
Just after Goines was charged, didn't Art say, the 911 call gave us (the police) the 'right' to be there? She's been charged by the Feds, not the state correct?

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
The question is, who was supervising this clown 12 years ago, and 12 months ago? I've read his past affidavits, they are all written the same way. Just a few details changed, but the same basic structure. They were just slightly better written than the note that was released a few weeks ago 'I screw up'. It's obvious to me, this former officer had almost no limitations, and very little in the way of supervision. That, is where the genesis of these crimes, nobody was watching.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
"But for that call, the information provided, we wouldn't be standing here today," HPD Chief Art Acevedo told reporters. - Sounds like Art has changed his tune a bit. Had the police done an actual investigation, after the call, they would have found the homeowners were 'normal' citizens rather than drug dealers. Instead, the corrupt Narco Squad decided they were guilty before finding any info. Goines supervisors should be punished too, as in, tried along side him for murder. I read some of the previous warrants he created, they are all the same, just a few details changed. As if he created one, the copied and pasted it every time he made out another warrant. If Goines is found guilty in the State and Federal trials, we can only hope his sentences will run consecutively.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
First off, who was supervising these guys? The number of discrepancies in past warrants is nothing short of stunning. I doubt that will come up during the trial. Second - these two need to be tried separately. Third - I saw the chiefs presser, he still insists there was some sort of illegal activity going on at the residence. I guess we'll find out about this time next year.
