Looks like a lot of progress. My status just changed to:
Application Completed - license issued or certificate active
I'm in Denton county.

Re: August Applications
That would sure be nice. I have been practicing and have been MUCH more comfortable with the Keltec p11 with belt clip than the XD40sc and crossbreeed superstuck. I blame the love handles that I'm working on.JackRR wrote:I see where someone got their license only 20 days after they got their PIN

Re: August Applications
That would be nice, but most efficiency models are the result of a competitive marketplace. The government has a monopoly this product.Nighthawk wrote:I'm usually a patient person ~ but I gotta say ~ I'm not crazy about the taking of the money and the 60 -120 days after that to process. I understand why it's that way and I don't really have a better idea (as I'm not knowledgable of the DPS Process) but I know it could be done more effeciently. This is an area that could benefit from some Six Sigma/Lean process improvement. Oh well ~ it's easy to say that while sitting around waiting....

Re: August Applications
I took the same class. As far as a holster I wore this Crossbreed Supertuck around the house on Saturday with my XD40SC and it took some getting used to. I still never felt entirely comfortable when sitting down. Do you intend to carry IWB or does your mode of dress make an external cover garment possible for OWB carry?Nighthawk wrote:Howdy folks ~ I'n new here ~ took the class with Crossfire in Roanoke on 8/16, mailed app on 8/20 certified mail, app received 8/22 ~ now the waiting begins. I'm thinking of looking for a holster so if anyone has an suggestion for a SW99 please send them my way. Thanks

Re: August Applications
I think we took the same class. I mailed my app a few hours before you so it will be interesting to see who get the plastic first.Beatnik wrote:I'll second that. I went by the local Drivers License office in Hurst and picked up a postcard requesting an application and mailed it to Austin. When I received the application packet back I went looking for a class and found Crossfire's available that weekend. I signed up for the class online and got the next to last spot.JET4 wrote:Hello everyone

Re: August Applications
You talked me into it. I just order a Crossbreed Supertuck.Xander wrote:Lots of folks actually get quite a bit of use out of a holster before their plastic comes. It's a good exercise to wear it around the house, going about your routine and getting use to it, to moving with and sitting and standing and bending, all in the privacy of your own home. It can make you a whole lot more confident and less self-conscious when the day comes and you do get to wear it out in public.wilder wrote:Mailed my packed off this morning. I was about to order a holster, but I might be jumping the gun so to speak!
