Ghentry, I appreciate your advise, and I think you are absolutely right about we can't predict when or where trouble will happen.
There is definitely the possibility that I may change my mind regarding when to carry in the future. It is right now hard for me to imagine carrying at all. Actually, I'm even finding myself searching to find normal situations where I may want to carry just to justify the effort of getting the CHL. I dont look for trouble just to carry :)
However, I don't believe I'll have any problem shooting somebody. The way I see it is if I pull out my gun, then I'm already dead, i.e. that's how serious the situation would have to be. It'll be like killing my murderer and thinking about the law would be the last thing on my mind. So I don't even see the need of the deadly force section in the CHL class... but I digress.
Thanks for your advise. I hope I don't live to regret not following it right now.

KinnyLee, maybe we work at the same company site. Is you building in a park called "research" something? My building also is posted, but since I don't yet have my CHL, it doesn't matter currently.
Even after I get my CHL, I don't think I'll carry to work. I just don't see the need.
Probably the only time I'll carry is traveling to unfamiliar areas of town, which is more often now that I've developed an interest in buying property at tax sales. Haven't made any money yet, probably will lose money on this, but it provides an interesting entertainment and the potential to make money.

I prefer having coworkers around
Actually, I'd get lonely working in the office alone. Much better to have coworkers around to take breaks and chat. I've always very safe w/ my coworkers; in fact, after thinking a little more, I think I feel safer w/ them than being alone.
Recently, I started to work from home in the afternoons, and I'd be home alone between 12P-3PM. (This is so I can keep an eye on my son's sitter between 3-5P after he comes back from school.) It is pretty boring to work at home. And every now and then Time Warner cable Internet gets all congested... Although it is much easier to fart, pick my nose, etc. :P
If I have to choose, I'd much prefer working in the office w/ other people. It'd be even better if they are into guns, but so far almost all my coworkers are anti guns. One of them came into my cube while I was surfing gunsamerica, and he mentioned that he thinks guns are dangerous and he's very scared of them. I didn't say thing besides that I'm considering of buying one. Other than that, our other interests seems to match well, cycling, motorcycling, going thru Frys ads, etc. Then I have this other coworker who's into guns and keeps coming to my cube and giving me gun brosures.
After I took my conceal class, I posted my certificate up on my cube. That generated a lot of conversations... and I also found out a lot of them is anti guns. Now my certificate has fallen behind some cabinets, got to retrieve it tomorrow.
