Representative Brian McCall

It seems the representatives from our area are fairly responsive to this issue. Jerry Madden is from the part of Plano I live in and his office has helped several with the DPS.

Congrats on your plastic. :cheers2:

ericsu19 wrote:When does the application time start. Is it when you applied online or when they receive the package?
When they receive the package. The time frame is 90-120 days at this point. Afew get lucky here and there and make it in the 60-90 frame, but not many.

:iagree: Yep...I found out the same thing. I waited almost a 100 days for a pin and then had my plastic within a week after that. Online applicants get a pin as part of the online process, but it means nothing at that point.

Sent DPS an email (?PIN?) today and they replied back today, here is their reply:
Your application has not been entered into the system. It is likely going though the processes required before entry. When a completed application is entered you will be sent a confirmation letter with your PIN.

64 days and I'm not even in their darn system, this is major bull :rules: , 60 days for completion my rearend :rules: !!!!!

I feel your pain. I was at almost a hundred days before seeing a pin. The cool part was that they had my license to me within about a week of getting me a pin issued. All that pin is going to do is tell you what you already know...processing application. With or without the pin...they are already working on it at the 90 day mark.

Actually, my app may have been easy for them. I dotted all the "i"s and crossed all the "t"s. I was never sent notice that anything was out of place. I have worked for the same employer for the last 7 years, and I have lived in the same house since 1989. I have never been arrested anywhere in my life.

I'm hoping that my diligence in my app submission and my boringly stable background had more to do with getting plastic so soon.
Wow....you definitely did better then most of us have been doing here lately. Congratulations. Maybe a lotto ticket would be a good idea while your luck is running good.

Man I got my PIN last week, hopefully I'll get mine in a week or so :anamatedbanana , what do you think, is that possible or was yours an acception??? :headscratch
Merely a coincidence, like he said PIN means nothing, so when you get it has no bearing on when you get your license.

I had to email them and request my PIN early on.

Don't let that bother you. This whole pin thing is extremely overblown. I was all worked up over not having a pin for more than 90 days. I got my pin and within a week my license was on the way. The pin means nothing other than somebody has typed your info into the computer. It has nothing to do with whether or not they are working on your application.

Thats the one of the funniest things I have heard yet.
The temps apparently don't have all the proper wording down yet. I wouldn't be surprised to hear the State has hired illegals to do the job. :smilelol5:

No wonder their behind, with all the emails and phone calls in all. Look, I understant that WE All want out plastic in hand, but lets give them some space so they can get caught up, ok.
Truth of it is...your right. If the call volume goes down, they can put some of the people answering unanswerable questions back to work processing applications. We are stepping on our own shoe strings by bugging the heck out of them with complaints and emails.

When I called the lady back,I was told she had my packet in hand and was sending it off for the background check that take anywhere from 2-2.5 weeks, but couldnt give me a dif time-line. My response was,So i should have my CHL in four weeks and she said that would be worst case scenario.
That time frame makes sense. Your application arrived right at a month after mine. Myself and a few others with my time frame are just now getting approved...it seems in mass. Maybe things are starting to hop down there.
