Accept it that it WILL occur and when it does ignore it.
Honestly, it's that easy.
It's a matter of choice.
Or go bonkers and see just how much that helps...
So true....it is hard at times, but no doubt the best position one could take.

Re: Road rage...
No need to be sorry about it...it is your opinion. I don't believe that kidding around about smacking a person in the third party is analogous to pointing a gun at someone. I wish I was so perfect that I could say I never thought, "boy I would like to smack that guy" but nope I'm not Jesus and don't pretend to be. I can say that I wouldn't normally act on these urges.C-dub wrote:My first impression of what Lightening wrote was that he was laughing about the lesson he was going to teach this guy. The other driver was, obviously, doing something wrong, but that doesn't really justify "joking" about beating them.
My 7y daughter has begun asking me about make-believe scenarios having to do with beating someone up. She has seen on the news or commercials where an older woman has beat up a young person that tried to take their car or purse. She said that would be funny if it happened to me. We had to have a talk about how even making jokes about such things are unacceptable. Similar to the rule about pointing a gun at another person as a joke. You just don't do it. It's one of the rules.
Sorry, but that's my opinion.
By the way...your story about your 7 year old is cute.

I encourage everyone to read your response to aardwolf's comment about a victim defending themself.
I encourage everyone to form their own opinion.
Maybe you should try again as you suggest others do. First off, there was no tail gating. Second...nobody was going to murder anyone...that is a bit out there. The crack about beating the guy down was a joke...as you should be able to tell from the LOL.
But since you want to take it all to heart...maybe it will convince you to quit driving around flipping people off. Oh yeah...and quit stopping on exit ramps...it almost caused a pile up on the freeway last night.

You were tailgating and almost rear-ended a guy, so you wanted to beat him up.
You didn't because your daughter was in the car. However, if she wasn't there, you were ready to commit aggravated assault.
If your assault victim tried to defend themself, you were willing to commit murder and shoot them.
Finally, thinking about murdering someone because of a traffic incident makes you LOL.

Only because my 28 year old daughter is more civilized than me. Your right though....the guy flipping me off was more of an instigation than actual road rage.usa1 wrote:theres no Road Rage here03Lightningrocks wrote:LOL....I got raged on just last night. Oh no...he is not going to drive an extra 100 feet and turn into the next entrance. He would rather pile up traffic, risk causing an accident and make an illegal turn than to drive 100 feet further and make a legal turn. Then, when they come out to get in their car to leave, rather than being angry, you will not be able to keep from smiling. Works every time.03Lightningrocks wrote:LOL....I got raged on just last night. I like the way you think. I would have had to ditch my daughter first and she wasn't about to let me out of her sights at that moment...LOL.

Re: Road rage...
Isn't that the truth. When I go to Houston, I feel like a country bumpkin on the freeways...LOL. Folks seem to be either going 100....or 45...nothing in between....and nobody seems to give a squawt what lane they do it in. Fast lane...what fast lane? I was amazed at how many people drive in the fast lane at 45 MPH. I was either getting my doors blown off...or slamming on my brakes to keep from rear ending the tards who don't get the whole fast lane concept.stevie_d_64 wrote:I have learned to drive defensively aggressive...Or is it agressively defensive...I dunno anymore...Growing up in Houston you either survive or stay off the 610 loop...

Re: Road rage...
Living and driving around the Dallas area, I can believe this is accurate. I am surprised we are not number one.Funny, I have had more women road rage on me the past couple years than men. I had one nutty woman follow me into a gas station. Crazy woman rolled down her window and started cussing at me. To this day I don't know why or what I had done...LOL. She just drove off.AndyC wrote:Yahoo News..."New Yorkers were most likely to wave their fists or arms. They were most likely to lay on the horn and they were most likely to make some sort of obscene gesture," said Michael Bush, of the marketing and consulting company Affinion Group, which commissioned the survey.
Dallas/Fort Worth came in second as the worst road rage city followed by Detroit, Atlanta and Minneapolis/St. Paul. Miami ranked a distant seventh.
Let's be careful out there...
My daughter had some guy trying to scare her by riding up on her and cutting her off. I have guys who work for me all over town. We had her lead the guy to where a couple of my bruisers could discuss his manners with him. He turned off a block from the interception. I even spent an hour searching the parking lots of the businesses on the street he turned on. That guy will never know how close he came to a total lifestyle change.

I don't know if there is any truth to what you said here, but that is one of the funniest posts I have read while visiting this forum.Kawabuggy wrote:I live in Houston and can admit to being "flustered" by other drivers. When you stop to think about it, and put a face on the problem it becomes apparent pretty quickly. Most, well maybe I'm using that a little too liberally, but MOST people I see on the roads doing stupid things are FIRST GENERATION drivers. This has nothing to do with age, but more so the fact that millions of our fellow motorists in this fair city have only previously ridden donkeys back and forth to market. Now they find themselves across the river, and cousin Juan has loaned them a 4,000 lb. automobile. There they go with no insurance, no license, no inspection stickers, no registration, no prior experience, no brakes, and no chance in heck that they will be able to navigate the streets safely. Because they did not grow up in an environment where their mother, father, aunts, uncles, and older nieces, nephews, & cousins grew up driving, they don't have that skill or knowledge passed on to them. How can you "teach" someone something when you can't do it yourself, & have no practical first hand experience? You can't.
