Thanks! I can put my Utah permit back in the safe again.

Plastic arrived in today's mail. I am thinking they don't mean literally when they change the status to mailed. I live about four hours from them and it took five days if I count today for it to arrive.

The entire process did not take nearly as long as I thought it would. Paper arrived in Austin on the 19th of February and my plastic is in my hands on the 15th of March. Under thirty days? No complaints from me.

to the folks in the CHL department. They have really improved the entire process since 2008 when I waited almost four months!

Oh yeah... One complaint. After reading a post on another forum concerning a picture mix up, I was pretty disappointed that they gave me one with the picture of a fat balding guy on it.

Lol... I was kidding around in my post above. I didn't really expect an update this quick. Just for grins I checked and it has been updated.

Not bad at all. I mailed the form Feb 15th in the afternoon. I had already paid for my license online. There was a three day weekend right after I mailed it. My postal receipt shows they received my forms on the 19th

Hey Lightning, just out of curiosity, did you ever get your update...?

Not yet.... Patiently waiting. Tomorrow will be 13 days since I mailed the form to them. If it doesn't show an update tomorrow, I am planning to call them and ask what the hold up is all about.

I just went manufacturer pending today. TBM was talking with DPS about something else and she was told it's taking 5-10 business days to manufacturer (done by vendor) to in you hands.

You've likely got at least another two weeks before you seen an update. The mail get's held for at least 3 weeks before an entry tech opens it and keys your data. If you get to 30days and have not seen a change, then call.

For real? I was kidding around a bit but was hoping to see they at least received my packet in a few days. I mailed it priority, no signature required. I can track it by USPS and see when it arrives in Austin.

DPS told T_B_M that it is 3-4 weeks before initial entry to system and assigned a tech for further review. Then, it's running 1-3 weeks for the check to be completed and 3-5 days for production and mailing.

Mine is a renewal. I am hoping it moves quicker than the new apps. Maybe not. Oh well... Fortunately I have a Utah non resident I can carry under for awhile.

That doesn't sound good. Good luck. I hope it something simple. Thinking about it, maybe they were simply sending you a Valentines card.

I just checked again... Nothing!! I am getting concerned here!
