Same here. The last thing I need is the legal/financial stress of using a deadly weapon. If it is unavoidable so be it but I sure as heck am not looking for a reason to use it. Nor am I looking to cause someone else to give me a reason to use it. I mind my own darned business and let the paid police handle parking issues and such.Rob72 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 2:02 pmRight there with ya, bro!LDP wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 1:58 pmThank you.surprise_i'm_armed wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 1:48 pm I had to look this up. EDPs. Rarely a deadly threat but possibly a threat of some violence or harassment.
That is exactly why I carry mace AND a gun. Some might disagree but I'd rather just mace some EDP and walk away than have only a deadly weapon to defend myself and answer to a grand jury full of libtards.

And, yes, I'm an old EMT, Corrections Officer, and Secured-Unit Care Provider.

LOL... I had no idea what EDP was. But did not bother to look it up. Thank you.surprise_i'm_armed wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 1:48 pm Drejka gave credible evidence of being an EDP and potential threat to the woman. Life hurts. It hurts more when you're stupid.

Re: FL:Stand your ground law under fire for parking space dispute murder
There is a lesson in that for all LTC's. LTC does not make you a cop, so mind your own business and don't run around looking for something to get involved in..Rob72 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 11:22 amDrejka gave credible evidence of being an EDP and potential threat to the woman. Life hurts. It hurts more when you're stupid. He told investigators he has a "pet peeve" about illegal parking in handicapped spots and often walks around such cars looking for handicapped stickers and placards, sometimes taking photographs. He said he often sees people illegally parked in the handicapped spot at that convenience store, but the owner doesn't do anything about it.
Drejka said he saw McGlockton's car in the handicapped spot that day, so he went to its back and front, looking for stickers, which store security video shows. He said the car's windows were tinted, so he didn't know anyone was inside.
Jacobs, who was sitting with the couple's two younger children, partially put down her window and asked what he was doing. He said he told her it was "not very polite" to park in the spot and "she took that as an affront." He said that sparked an argument that got heated, with Jacobs saying "Do I have to get my man?"
Jacobs testified that Drejka had started pointing and yelling at her. She said she cracked the window to hear what he was saying and a screaming match ensued.

Re: FL:Stand your ground law under fire for parking space dispute murder
That sure seems like a heavy sentence for using self defense. I think I understand how it works now. If some thug knocks you to the ground, self defense is not allowed if he is black. OK... guess I would be going to jail because black, white green or brown, someone knocks me to the ground and then moves at me like they are gonna keep up the attack, they might just get shot.philip964 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 11:47 am https://news.yahoo.com/parking-space-en ... 26748.html
Parking space enforcer sentenced to 20 years.
He is 48 probably now.
Interesting in the initial story the Sheriff said it was "stand your ground". Probably he had not seen the video.

This shows the risk one faces with a jury. Right or wrong, one never knows what emotions will play out and find an innocent person guilty of a crime. IMHOoljames3 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 9:33 am ANALYSIS: Michael Drejka Guilty of Manslaughter
Attorney Andrew Branca:https://lawofselfdefense.com/analysis-m ... slaughter/OK, folks, here’s a somewhat more in-depth commentary on Drejka’s conviction last night:
Last night “handicap parking spot shooter” Michael Drejka was found guilty of manslaughter, as charged, for the shooting death of Markeis McGlockton. The verdict was returned quickly last night, after the jury had deliberated only a few hours.

Self defense IMHO. The crime is that they are taking the victim to court.

Re: FL:Stand your ground law under fire for parking space dispute murder
My bet is that she was about to help beat the guy and then saw the gun and ran. If that fellow had not fired we would have been watching his beat down on another of those infamous you tube videos. Those two were definitely about to pound him. He should not have been playing parking cop but that does not give a thug and his girlfriend the right to pound him down.

Funny how the media works. They show a picture of the guy who was shot all smiley faced and looking like a boy scout. Then they show a picture of the shooter looking threatening and ominous.tomneal wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2019 4:53 pm It's going to trial now:
