Probably not whole story. Did husband know home invaders? Did he open door?
Yeah. I smell something fishy here. Maybe some drug dealing?

Whoever decided to have a Pro-Palestinian conference in Texas is an idiot. There's plenty of leftist states that would have been better venues.

The assistant chief seems to have more sympathy for the "suspects" aka aggravated robbers than the victims.
“To anyone who’s watching … please consider your actions, consider your decisions, because choices have consequences,” Hatcher said at the briefing. “The suspects here, I would believe, have loved ones who will now be grieving their loss.”
She's a moron who shouldn't be taken seriously as a law enforcement officer.
I think we can all be honest here. She only got the job because of her skin color. And what Houston receives in return is a racist black woman trying to punish all white people.

Now the mayor wants to ban guns inside those kinds of establishments with a new ordinance.
But wait a second. By definition, aren't most bars and nightclubs TABC Red already? Good plan, mayor. :banghead:
It is as if they believe that a person who would shoot someone for nothing or rob a place is going to follow the law when it comes to taking their illegal/stolen firearm into a place that forbids firearms. They can't be this stupid. There has to be an ulterior objective.

The very definition of a criminal is someone who does not follow the law.

Re: TX:The mean streets of Houston

My issue with Transgenders owning firearms is that they are all suffering from a mental condition know as gender dysphoria. Mentally unstable people should not be allowed to purchase firearms. It is no different than allowing a serial killer or a mentally incapacitated drug addict to purchase firearms. It is th same reason we should not allow a domestic violent child abuser or spousal abuser to own a firearm. They are far more likely to use the weapon to extract violence on the public with a firearm. For the record, the last four "active shooters" were all suffering from gender dysphoria and chose to extract revenge on those they perceive as their enemies. I don't give a good golly darn how much the woke attempt to characterize gender dysphoria as normal human behavior. Nothing could be further from the truth. The reason people suffering from this mental condition are attempting to indoctrinate our children as young as 5-6 years old is to make a sickness common enough to justify their own mental instability. If gender dysphoria is a normal human condition, there is no need to indoctrinate children to accept it as an option. These kids are very susceptible to adult cohercian. For christs sake, children believe in Santa Clause, the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny. Scientist who claim ridiculous theories about it being something that happens in the womb are full of crap. It is a mental condition and accepting it is just as insane and misguided as accepting serial killers and child abusers.

Can foreign nationals in the US own and possess guns? I don’t know.
Interesting question. I forgot all these new immigrants are coming in illegally. I am thinking they may not be allowed to legally possess a firearm.

5 dead in Cleveland after neighbors complain to neighbor about neighbor firing his semiautomatic rifle on his property.

RIP.

Something that I picked up on in the news story, aside from the anti gun media bias slant of the "journalist". If they had time to video this lunatic coming up to the door with a rifle, they had time to arm themselves and stop him. Makes me think they did not have a means of self defense in the home.
The suspect responded by telling them that it was his property, according to Capers, and that one person in the house got a video of the suspect walking up to the front door with the rifle.

Only a complete idiot would be carrying around a large sum of cash and not be carrying a firearm. That guy ask to be robbed. There was plenty of time to draw and shoot on that robber. I am always armed anyway, and when carrying large sums of cash or even 4 or 5 grand, I have my alert system on overdrive. Just seeing that car pull up to the side like that would have put my hand on my sidearm. The car pulls up and stops beside me the sidearm is out and in action. There is absolutely no way that robber would have pulled that off with me and remained unventilated. His mammy would be on the news telling us all what a good boy he was and asking why I shot him so many times. I would feel real bad that I was so scared I wasn't sure how many rounds I fired. I just wanted to protect myself and stop the guy. :tiphat:
What really sticks out is that the thug went straight to the backpack. Didn't stand everybody up, snatch the purses, go through the pockets, get wallets, just a beeline for the backpack and nothing else. Way too specific. How would they had known just what to grab - did he march into the bank with it, pack it while in there, or stuff the money into it out in the parking lot in plain view of anyone and everyone. Way peculiar. Worst application of opsec I've ever seen.

I wouldn't put anything past bank employees either, giving heads up to a thug boyfriend and his gang lurking outside. It's certainly happened.

Elderly Man Robs Store For One Pack Of Beer
Couple things go through my mind. First, there is no way I would have gone out and approached that guy if I was only the clerk at that store. They don't say if he was the owner. The next thing that crossed my mind is the driver of the get away car. Who knows if the driver had a firearm. The driver may have come out of the car shooting. Active defense mentioned OC spray but again, the driver could have still jumped out shooting. All over a six pack of beer. Maybe I am just too lazy or old but I ain't fighting someone over a six pack of beer.
A long time ago I worked as a clerk at a 7-11. During orientation we were told if robbers came in to give them whatever they wanted because nothing in the store was worth dying for.
Now that is a coincidence. I worked at a 7-11 from when I was 16-18 or 19. I remember that training well. Funny part of that story. I lied and told them I was 18 when I was 16. That was before the age of computers.

Re: TX:The mean streets of Houston

I kind of wish we had a "Mean Streets of Dallas or even DFW" thread. I am sure we have almost as much random crime as Houston. We just need someone around here that reads up on daily news. I know quite a bit of random violent crime goes on in Arlington and Ft. Worth.

Father of 3 dead.

It’s important to know your limitations.

Chasing after 5, just because you have a gun is not good odds.

1:30 am. Opening car doors in his neighborhood, opened his car door. He came out shooting. They ran down the street. He chased them in his car. When he came back to his house in his car they were waiting as that was where their car was. Shot and murdered him in his front yard.
The victim was in his home and came outside shooting. Maybe not such a great idea when there are five thugs outside. It is hard enough taking down one person alone but taking down five without getting shot yourself is a pretty difficult task. One thing that comes to my mind is that even if he had killed all five of them, what are the chances of him being charged with murder? I am not sure how the law works on a situation where you go outside shooting at people for messing with your car. Personally, I would have called the cops and stayed inside watching them while armed. They approach my home and it is open fire time. Situations like this is why we all need an AR.

Why Your Draw Times Can Be Vitally Important
I have seen this terminology posted on here several times in the past. What exactly is "active Self Protection"? I live in Plano and already am always in a self protective awareness mode. I don't even exit or go back to my vehicle without scanning the area for possible trouble. Is this an actual thing the "authorities" in Houston declare?
