WTS: Walther P99 .40 S&W (Houston area)
I have an extra Walther P99 .40 S&W in very good/excellent condition that is taking up precious space in my closet. It has been cleaned/maintained regularly, never been carried, and it has been fired very infrequently (maybe 500 rounds in a 7 year old gun). It is the first generation P99, with t...

Did he say there are only THREE G18C's in the country? That can't be right...May be he meant there are only three that are transferable. I've never seen a transferable G18 but I've handled and show two dealer's sample G18s owned by an FFL in the Austin area. Idunno...Just seems terribly unlikely th...

Re: Reciprocity: Tenn
After reading the above restrictions: Texas CHL rocks compared to many other states. In large part because of the efforts of Dr. Cotton, TSRA and some of our more enlightened State Lawmakers. :iagree: My wife traveled to Tennessee recently. She didn't have a choice but to go to one restaurant that ...

Re: Reciprocity: Tenn
+1 I go to Tennessee periodically and those are the biggies, especially the no place that serves alcohol including any restaurant. :banghead: If you're heading to the Memphis area, try Perkin's restaurant out (there's several spread out). Much better than IHOP and Denny's, plus no alcohol means car...

Hospitals are still allowed to post 30.06 though. I'm guessing that the amendment was added to avoid confusion.tornado wrote:Why is that, considering that non-teaching hospitals aren't exempt?Charles L. Cotton wrote:SB1164 passed on a 19 to 12 vote with one amendment exempting "teaching" hospitals.

Re: SB 1164 Campus Carry in floor debate NOW
I don't think I've seen this addressed anywhere, but does anyone know how this would affect hospitals in partnership with universities that post 30.06? Would just the hospital part be off limits, with the classrooms being ok, or would the 30.06 no longer be valid?

Re: Academy ammo sales
Picked up a couple 9mm 100 pack WWB from the local Academy yesterday for about $22 each. They seemed to have plenty of stock to choose from. At least a dozen more boxes of WWB and quite a few Monarchs as well. The last two times I've been there they had what I needed. I've been to 2 different Walmar...

Accident plus CHL friendly Houston PD
Well, my 10 year string of fortune ran out this morning as I was driving back from getting my wife's car serviced at the dealer. A lady driving in the middle lane made an sudden left turn, cutting through my lane. I had to swerve to avoid her, but unfortunately my wife's car ended up slamming sidewa...

Re: Old Marlin 30-30
Ok, so am I sitting on something valuable and not even aware of it? I have a Marlin 30-30 in almost perfect condition that my grandfather left to me. According to me dad, it's older than him, so probably 60 years or more. The thing was cleaned and conditioned very regularly, and the action is flawle...

Re: Dis/Re-arming in your car
Had to go into the tailor shop for some alterations. Short stop, but needed to be fitted. XDM .40 too big for center console, so had wife stand at door, and slipped under some newspaper when nobody was around. Locked car, and she kept eye on car for the 10 minutes it took, then reversed procedure. ...
